About SKKIF and SKIF

SKKIF

SKKIF - Shotokan Karate Kanazawa-Ryu International Federation - is the karate association to which Mizu Shotokan Karate-Do belongs.

Mizu Shotokan Karate-Do is one of only two SKKIF clubs with dojos in London, and the only SKKIF club with dojos in Surrey.

SKKIF in turn belongs to SKIF - Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation. It is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa

SKIF was established in 1978 by Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa 10th Dan. Master Kanazawa studied directly under Grand Master Gichin Funakoshi, the founder of Shotokan Karate-Do.

Master Kanazawa has visited Mizu Shotokan Karate-Do annually since we join SKIF in 2000.
