Getting Started
Getting started couldn't be easier: come along to one of our regular sessions - it costs £10 for a drop-in session - and give it a go.
If you live in West London
Adults, come along to Kitson Hall in Barnes:
- 8:00-9:15pm Monday, or

Try to arrive 15 minutes or so before the class: it will give you a chance to find Clint so that he can show you the ropes.

Tips

- Shoes, socks and jewellery come off for training
What to expect in your first karate class
The class starts with everyone lining up, with black belts at one end and white belts at the other. You'll be at the end of the line beside the white belts.
Then there's a warn up. If you haven't exercised for a while, take it easy.
Once the warm-up is complete, the class proper starts.
Every class is different.
At times you'll be asked to sit down. Don't feel short-changed, as this is also an important part of the lesson:
- You will sit cross-legged, which is intended to stretch your knee joins
- You will be able to watch others, and learn from them
We do use some japanese words, the most important being "Oss", which means "yes". (Don't worry about learning the word for "no" - you'll never need it in a karate lesson!)
